2024 Summer Sermon Series

We're excited to announce our 2024 summer worship plan! If you don't know, for the past several years we have been following the Narrative Lectionary, which runs from early September through Pentecost (May 19th this year). One of the things that we love about the NL is that it gives us the summers "off," and so we have the opportunity to put together some fun and creative sermon series. Our Worship Council has been hard at work planning, and we're thrilled to share our plan for this summer.

We know summer is busy for many of us, but we hope you'll make plans to join us when you are in town (or via livestream!) as we move through these meaningful series together!

Creation Care: Building A World Where All Can Flourish
(May 26–July 7th)

This sermon series on Creation Care series comes to us by way of our friends at the BibleWorm podcast and will focus on our relationship with the sky, earth, animals, and caring for all of God's creation. We acknowledge the importance of being in relationship with all aspects of creation, but also the complexity of our current relationship with creation. And so we'll dig in and dream together about what it might look like to build a world where all aspects of God's good creation can flourish together.

The Elephant in the Church: Honest Conversations About Faith
(July 14–September 1st)

We believe that a community of faith should be a place where we can be whole people. All too often, however, we feel pressure to avoid certain topics or aspects of who we are in order to avoid discomfort. We're exciteed about our "Elephant in the Church" series because it will give us the opportunity to explore some of these topics that we often avoid in churches: hypocrisy, sin, money, hell, interfaith relations, and more! Hope you'll make plans to join us!

September 8th - We'll return to the Narrative Lectionary on September 5th! We'll begin in Genesis 2 and work our way through the Hebrew Scriptures in the fall and then flip over to the Gospel of Luke at Christmas! You can find out more about the Narrative Lectionary here.
