Christianity and Democracy
Starts: Sunday, July 5, 2026 Sunday, 9:30am–10:30am, in person (West Wing room 108)) Contact: Haley Cawthon-Freels or Art Wright Throughout July, the Adult Spiritual Formation class will explore a timely article series from Baptist News Global on Christianity and Democracy, marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Join us as we look at our history and discuss how our faith speaks into the public square today. This class meets in West Wing room 108 at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. Park in the back parking lot and enter in the right door from the parking lot. Go up the short flight of stairs and then go all the way down the hall to your right. We'll be in the room at the end of the hall! Please note: This will be a safe, non-partisan space focused on faith and community rather than party politics. Art's Writings
Starts: Sunday, August 2, 2026 Sundays, 9:30–10:30am, in person (in West Wing Sunday school room 108) Facilitator: Art Wright We are so fortunate to have a pastor who is also a biblical scholar! Rev. Dr. Art Wright writes frequently for a number of outlets—the local newspaper, online blogs, popular resources for pastors, and others! During August, we thought it might be interesting to read some of the things he's written these past few years, as a way to get to know his interests better, and spend time reflecting theologically on some different topics together. Each week we'll ask you to read a short writing (usually 1,000 words or less) beforehand and come to class prepared to share what you thought! We will meet in the West Wing room 108. Enter in the right door from the parking lot, go up the short flight of stairs, turn right down the hallway, and you'll see us in the room at the end of the hall—door will be open!
