Kindness Rocks

We were inspired by the Williamsburg ROCKS! Facebook group. The idea of this rock group is to promote kindness by decorating rocks & hiding them in various outside locations to inspire & brighten someone's day.

You can decorate your rock with paint, sharpies or other artistic material then finish off with a waterproof sealant over the rock (top and bottom) to help preserve your artwork.

If you find a piece of rock art that you can't bear to part with, then please feel free to keep it.

Please be respectful of private property, parks and businesses. Hide rocks in proper and safe places (example: do not put where a mower will run over it). Please check with businesses and parks to make sure you can hide your rock in their area. Some parks, especially national parks, do not allow rock hiding. It is suggested to do your rock hiding outside. Also, keep paintings and quotes positive...no negativity or rudeness here please!

Rocks can be purchased from many of the crafts stores, home stores or landscape businesses.

Finding rocks to paint can be a fun adventure but just remember to be respectful. Please do not take rocks from private property, parks or businesses. Please also respect wildlife areas that asks rocks to not be disturbed. There are plenty of positive, respectful areas to find rocks with your kids. Thank you.

Send us a picture of the rock art you find and tell us where and when you found it. We'll post pictures on our social media and on this page. So keep, re-hide and/or create a new piece of rock art.
