Williamsburg Baptist Church participates in missions because God provides the example we follow. It’s the idea of Missio Dei, the Mission of God. God first created and sent Christ. God is interested in the transformation of both individuals and society, and so we, too, go into the world - we send out – hoping to accomplish the same. For this reason, we believe in and participate in mission opportunities that are both local and global.

Members of Williamsburg Baptist Church also participate in a number of local ministries and service organizations that reflect the passions of our church and seek social and personal transformation. These organizations include: All Together, Avalon, Church Women United, Colonial Community Corrections, Faith in Action, FISH, Good News Jail Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, and Hospice Support Care.
Mission Education opportunities
* Women’s Mission Circle – meets monthly to support both local and worldwide missions.
* Children’s Church - meets each Sunday during the 11:00 AM Worship Service. Children (Pre-K through 3rd Grade) meet together on the front pew in the sanctuary to participate in the beginning of the service, and then later move to the East Wing for a time of mission education.
Kairos Baptist Church in Cuba
In 1994 Stan Hastey, of the Alliance of Baptists, proposed a sister-church relationship between the Williamsburg Baptist Church and the Kairos Baptist Church of Bayamo, Cuba. This was a new "house church" which had been accepted into the Fraternity of Cuban Baptist Churches in 1992. For the last 11 years, we have partnered with Kairos Church in sharing the good news of God with others.
